GREAT PACIFIC JAZZ BAND
(La, 1979-1995:)

From its development in 1979 to its disbanding in 1995, the GREAT PACIFIC JAZZ BAND had been Southern California's many exciting conventional jazz musical organization. Led by banjoist/pianist BOB RINGWALD, the GPJB boasted a number of the planet's finest musicians which combined their particular skills generate a polished, effective and expressive jazz sound. Trumpet man ZEKE ZARCHY ended up being very recorded jazz artists of all time, while trombonist BOB HAVENS is extensively thought to be the greatest living classic jazz performer thereon instrument.

The team's repertoire was drawn from all styles of old-fashioned jazz. The band's library of arrangements included the music of LOUIS ARMSTRONG, BIX BEIDERBECKE, BOB CROSBY's BOBCATS, RED NICHOLS and DUKE ELLINGTON, among many more. The musical organization also played completely new initial compositions by reed-man DON NELSON.

The GPJB was featured at the SACRAMENTO JAZZ JUBILEE for 14 consecutive years, and at the LOS ANGELES CLASSIC JAZZ FESTIVAL almost every year since the festival's inception in 1984. The band headlined at many other significant jazz celebrations including those in Reno NV, Friday Harbor and Ocean Shores WA, Fresno, Palm Springs, Pismo Beach, Costa Mesa, Three streams and San Diego CA.

In addition, the fantastic PACIFIC JAZZ BAND liked lengthy and successful involvements at Los Angeles' premiere Dixieland jazz night-spots, including Stevie G's in Studio City, Tracton's Restaurant in Encino, 24 months within Money Tree in Toluca Lake, two years during the Beef n' Barrel business Restaurant in Los Angeles, a couple of years inside my Brothers' devote Northridge and their particular last wedding at LGT Las vegas in Mission Hills, CA.

In 1979, shortly after Ringwald's relocation on Los Angeles area, he had been welcomed by trumpeter PETE DAILY to wait the twice-weekly jam sessions at Disney Studios in Burbank. Zeke's trumpet could be heard on these types of classic initial recordings as BENNY GOODMAN'S "BUGLE CALL RAG, " GLENN MILLER'S "MOONLIGHT COCKTAILS, " and BOB CROSBY'S much-imitated "SOUTHERN RAMPART STREET PARADE, " to name a few.
